Great to see how a light weight car can outbrake and corner the big boys.

But i think the guys in the Porshe and Ferrari have an awful lot to loose if they get it wrong so they wont push as hard!!

£15000 Lotus Vs £100,000 Ferrari

Still, that'll teach them to but exspensive cars.

I'm not too sure about the first video...

I don't like the way the guy forces past cars in an outbreaking situation. It certainly wouldn't be allowed on a decent UK trackday...

In a proper racing situation the Ferrari/Porsche drivers would soon block his lines.

Whilst it was a 355 F1 Challenge not an F40 I drove for a day, I can't see how the Elise was so much better under braking than the Ferrari, unless the Ferrari driver was just leaving the car in 4th the whole time and not even trying on the braking/corners.

I actually drove the 355 back to back with an Elise 160bhp (i think) and the difference purely on accelleration is amazing. Don't know what's going on in that video but its not right.

F40 is carbon fibre so will be lighter than the 355 race car and I shouldn't think far off the Elise.

1100kg/478bhp verses (S2 111R) 860kg/189bhp

0.43bhp/KG verses 0.22bhp/KG

Nearly double in the F40

Update: 355 Challenge is 1355KG/380Bhp so 0.28bhp/KG. and that was noticeably faster than the Elise. So the F40 would cream both 355 and Elise, no question.

Perhaps it was an MR2 not an F40

I suspect the guy in the first video would be 'black flagged' if he tried his luck on a UK circuit - really agressive IMO

Cheers,
