Nice run, looks like you caught a nasty bit of kerb at the end there
Well controlled with the full opposite lock though, that's what quick racks are for then

what times did you get today Mark?
looks like you need a taller second gear in that box.
on the last hillclimb i did at harewood in august I am going into 4th downhill, 2nd on the esses, briefly snatch 3rd before farm.

Thanks to Steve for explaining google video to me
That was a 68.24 today - not the fastest in class, but the fastest pinto!
cutting the corner at the end is neccessary to get over the finish line without losing too much speed - and yes i'd be stuffed without the quick
rack
gearing - thinking of a lower diff ratio possibly 4.44 or similar this would give more gearchanges but better acceleration loads of cash though!
Cheers

I have a friend who maintains that if you aren't right on the bleeding edge of what you and the car can deliver then it ain't worth
bothering. I get that now - I suspect you do as well...
P.S. Well done.
Quite right, the second run was on the ragged edge........
But hung on to it though

million dollar question.....the time you gain by briefly going up a gear for a few seconds and going that bit faster is it negated by the time it
takes to change gear??

Good question. this is the first time I have had chance to look at the speeds achieved (I don't have time to look at the speedo when driving)
I think I would be over the peak on the revs if I left it in second for the whole run. I keep it in the power band better by changing up into 3rd.
I'm running a 3.92 diff now - I could reinstall my 3.64 diff which would help to keep it in second that but then I'd lose on
acceleration.
Actually I need more acceleration so I'd be looking to go to a 4.44 diff which would mean another change into 3rd before orchard corner but I
think I would have been there quicker in the first place.
I don't think my gearchanges are particularly slow after all
