Elvington - now 102dBA
From the Javelin Motorsport website: -
"From 01/01/2007 the Noise limit on all Javelin events at Elvington will be 102dba at 0.5 metres at 3/4 max revs"
Guess that'll greatly reduce the BEC count...

I measured 101.9dB(A) when I was there. I'd think twice about going again, but mainly beacuse of the tyre wear rather than the noise.

tyre wear at Elvington is shocking!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

Noise is typically measured at 1m from exhaust, most close calls will therefore miss this limit. It's the locals kicking up again though the PC
brigade have been after a reduction for ages. Thank yourself lucky it's not 100Db... thats twice as quiet!

And testers that don't know that much about cars causing problems with the 3/4 revs rule...
They wanted me to test the Pinto at 5.5k!.. Don't they red line about that as standard!
And at Elvington its probably more tyre squeel than engine noise.. I know ours was with the Sierra donor wheels on!
