My first legal drive
Well yesterday was the big day. Three weeks after my car was SVA’d and registered I got the engine sorted. Wifey came with me so I could drop of the
trailer I’d hired and would drive my regular car home.
Set off, brilliant, well worth the two and half years plus it’s spent in the garage being finished.
Got it squirming changed up from first to second, whoa, never had a car do that before. And that's only with about 110bhp. Lord knows what it
would be like with a 160+bhp engine.
Corners, what corners!!!!
Shame the water pump killed it, but get another today.
Best bit was the reaction when I picked my four year old up from nursery, risked it with a dodgy waterpump cos it’s only a mile round trip. She never
stopped giggling the whole time. Even had a posh Beemer stop to let me out.
If this is what I’ve been waiting for since I first tempted to have a kitcar when I was about 25, 20 odd years ago, it,s been worth the wait. Can’t
wait for this afternoon when I get the new waterpump

And it's only just started!!!
Andy
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

I can only say the five or six miles or so before it cooked were probably the most enjoyable miles I've ever done in a car. Drizzling misserable
weather well rapped up BRILLIANT

Mine's been on the road for nearly 18months and I still get out of it with a smile from ear to ear.
Brilliant.

I did exactly the same on the Saturday morning when I finally got all my paperwork - Straight to Halfrauds for plates and then out doing the taxi run
to collect them all from their various activities - Lovely sunny day in May as well - Still feels fab

it just gets better the more miles you do, and the smiles just get bigger. Enjoy
A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

Sorted the waterpump. It was the gasket leaking (I didn't build the engine) thrashed round the country lanes round me, great fun, although
it's as twitchy as h**l on the rubbish surfaces. Maybe have to learn how to set up tyre pressures and suspension now.
But now got another problem. It's sucked the end of one of the air filters down the inlet. Anybody got any idea how to get it out without
stripping the engine
