Had to happen
Went out in the indy today down to a field a friend and i fly radio controls helicopters. I was on my way to see was he was upto when the car infront
thought it would give it some beans, i took hold and followed, past the field and then turned around after giving the other car the thumbs up, round
an island and as i nailed it i watched something black fly over my head. Yep its the bonnet, i slammed the anchors on to try and get it out of the way
of others cars. Its still in one peice but has cracked in a few places and actually shattered the entire front part of it as there are many small hair
line marks in it.
Matewatched it happen from the field and said it went above the lamp post next to where it happened, was suprised its still in one peice. GRRRR

Luckily they do seem to go high and clear the driver / passenger, otherwise someones gonna lose a head one of these days.
Mine landed in a corn field so was damage free.

yeh if the meets close to me im up for it.
the bonnet needs replacing, alltho i can still use it for now. im not sure what caused it, i added a nose vent last year and this may had pushed air
under the bonnet and caused it to lift off. But i did take it off before i set off to change the power cammander map and may have not cliped it on
correctly.
i wanted to add the normal style mk vent to cover the ZX12 filter that currently stick out and was going to look at the carbon mods one. Well now i
can just get the mk bonnet with moulded in vent now. Just a pity its goinf to take a whole day to recut my side vents in it.
i will add a internal lip that slides under the nose cone lip i think so it cant lift off ever again.
wasnt wearing my helmet either so made me jump. lol

that looks nice. is it the 500? what electric are you running? i have a belt cp carbon but after getting my 500 CF i ant use it anymore as its pap
compaired to the 500. Im doing loops, bunts and rolls and some nose in hovering but thats it. loots of near hits too.
Friend is running a trex 600 nitro. but he is always having troubles with it. Made me feel clad i didnt have the money as his stuff it all top end and
all it has done is play up.
Another great hobby for the summer, that and my new mountain bike means when the weather is good i find it hard to choose what to play with

it is indeed a 500 but far from standard! Lots of metal and carbon upgrades, and a Scorpion motor on 6S 3000 packs. Loads of power! Been flying it
for around 6 months now, repetoir includes flips, rolls, loops, autos, inverted hovering, piro's. Trying to learn tic tocks at the mo!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

nice one, ive been flying for around 18 months but only had the 500 for 6 months. Your learning fast, i find the price of fixing them is holding me
back trying things. Do you think its worth the price to upgrade the motor?
Im also running pap servos, the smaller hitec ones (82mg?) and they have had play in the top bearings from new. When i wreck one im upgrading to the
larger hitecs but couldnt afford it at the time.
Great hobby and very challanging.

Anyway back onto the bonnet.
Do mk deliver the bonnets or do i need to pick it up? Its a fair trip for me (4 hours total) and will cost a fair whack in petrol @ 15mpg.

Re motor, yes, definatly worth the cost. Loads of power from start to finish, downside is 4-5 minute flight times.
Re servos, Im running InoLab's and Ive gotta say they are pretty good and not massively expensive. Tap up Rupert at Blink.
Re Bonnet, maybe a call to MK??
