Mobile speed camera in Hull??

Anyone in the Hull area help out here?

We were riding back from Hull to Sheffield, at about the point the A63 becomes the M62, a guy in a high vis jacket was on a footbridge, my mate is convinced he was a copper and camera'd the front and back of our bikes, I'm not sure he was police.

Anyone know if its common practice for them to be on those foot bridges in Hull?
Cheers.
Pete.

Not sure about the bridge thing but we drove on that same stretch of road a few weeks back and noticed a significant number of Rozzers out and about.

i've known them to be on bridges before (not necessarily in hull) i guess it makes it easier for them to see on both directions of the road.

you get them on bridges on the M6 a lot

I live exactly where you are talking about. They have had the roadworks along that section and recently removed the specs average cameras. I have noticed one bike with camera but he wasn't on the bridge.

They are fairly keen along there but I wouldn't have thought he would have been on the bridge.

speed camera

I go along that road every day, there has been a car on the bridge over the west bound lane for about a week. sometimes the guys are out of the car clocking passing traffic, it is just before the temp 50 limit for the road works, hope you get away with it.

I used to drive from shefield to hull every day for 10 years and the most common spot for speed traps was the section just after the M62 turns into the A63.

witnessed one fatal accident at the trafic lights half way dow the A63, and lots of serious ones.

Could have been an ANPR camera. Bridges over motorways and dual carriageways are a favourite for ANPR's

Thanks guys, I don't think we were 'speeding' maybe displaying 80, so a real 74 or so, just a little unsettling....

only time ive seen feds on bridges is when they have a pal up the road to stop people. Never heard of them being on foot to send tickets through the post.

we get them on bridges all the time up here, but only ever in those big f off vans grrr

Also, heard from a police biker i serve in the pub i work at of an evening, police bikes never do static speed trapping, as its a waste of the valuable bike time. Instead if you see a bike with a speed cam out on a tripod its a civvy with a harddrive recording speed camera, apparently they get done or at least ticked off for impersonating a police officer (blue lights on thier bikes etc)
but they still send the speed tapes to the police and say this driver deserves a ticket, and you will still get one. But surely there is an opportunity for an easier appeal there?
That could just be in this area, hes only every worked norfolk/norwich

First (& last) time I got camera'd was just after they started using them in Northants (A45 Brackmills bridge, ***^&&&*&^&**), I had forgotten that short section was 60, not 70.

Solo copper, hand held.

I just gotta be carefull in the Luego.

Iirc they have to publish the sites where they have cameras, even if they're not fixed...
