North Weald Activity Day 14th August

Hi Guys,
After finally getting the kitcar on the rollers today, Sending off the IVA forms in the next few days. I've booked on a north weald activity day on the Sunday 14th of August.
More than 10 spaces left and being sunday £50 is very good value. Hope to see some of you there
Ed

Just a lilttle note to say thanks to all you where there today..good to meet some fellow locosters... big thanks to Pewe who swapped places at the 11th hour to give me a day out..great fun , but I have to say I kept getting beaten by a pesky atom, I think that I need trackday tyres, my excuse and I am sticking to it..... was that my rain tyres are just do not grip like semi slicks..

For all those that are nearby, get out and do it, for 50 notes, it does not get much better fun, I may have even persuaded the wife to have a go at the next day....

My day there didn't go to plan to say the least! rad fan switch packed up so had to pop into town to get some wire and a switch to run the fan manually...so missed the morning session DOH

Thanks at lot Keith for the loan of the tools (and also to the person that loaned me some fuses to try hope you got them back i put them on your seat) but only had 3 runs in the afternoon as i noticed my lower front OS wishbone starting to bend think that high speed left on to the not so smooth surface was a bit to much for the inboard to take!

John, sorry to hear bout the woes in the aternoon. never hear of that happening before - I would speak to MNR about it in the first instance, as I did no think it was that rough - certainly no problems with my wishbones...

Hope to you see you on another day..PS what time did you manage the circuit in?

Cheers

Got the fuses back thanks
We had a great day, well worth the £50

And did a 69 sec lap in the afternoon, not to bad for a 1800 standard zetec

had an interesting day..
bettered my high speed corner time by about 5 mph...

then managed to put a hole in my sump in the afternoon

I think is was on the chicane on the sprint circuit I thought the shocks were bottoming out on the transition between
the two surfaces but seems it was the sump grinding on the floor..........
after about 5 runs I had worn a small hole in the ally sump.

luckily I pulled off to check tyre pressures and noticed the leak.

this forced me to start my winter mods early.

but still had a great day, cant wait for the new engine to go in and go back!!!

Oh that was you eddie cheers for the fuses

it might have been the chicane that had the harsh bump, i took someone out on my last 4th run so it might have been to much force for it!

my third run was a 64 sec but i think the Atom did a 61? what did you do Keith you looked like you were right on the Money

maybe if i try again i'll raise the ride height!

good job you noticed the leak Gavin. i did notice some oil over by the start of the sprint

john, on my two runs of the circuit in the afternoon I think I was around the 64/65 second mark...i cannot recall exactly, certainly there was room for improvement from my driving at least.
Cheers

Gutted not to be there, but two days before the event I checked the coolant level and found the header tank full of mayonnaise. Oops.

In spite of a heroic late night effort to strip the head off and change the head gasket, work commitments got in the way and I didn't manage to get it done in time. Shame, sounded like a good day out.

I'll be there next time.....
