R888's fitted

Finally got some second hand r888's on the car, done one race and qualifying session.

After doing 500miles since its been road legal and one trackday on halfords tyres......

Went out for a 30minute blat in the damp conditions. Already noticed a great improvement, cant wait for a nice warm day now

Glad to hear it, because I bought some too, and will try them in the spring: crap tyres on 13" now, but going to 15" with the R888's. Here's hoping they fit under the front wings.

Yeah i span 3 times on a damp track. partly due to my poor lines partly because i expected more from them.

everybody says they are not great but i was amazed how bad they were. i would never use these as my main road tyre.

Ive been meaning to get R888 for years.. Just could not justify spending £600+ on a set for my old coupe.. Even the Mk Indy you are talking £100+ per corner...

Stu, you'll have to let me know when they are on and which trackday your planning on testing them.

Will do - they are coming with Team Dynamics 13" wheels as well so should be a lot better in the twisty bits!

Westfield have a special offer on at the moment:

7 x 13 Inch Pro Race 1.2 Fitted With 205 x 60 x 13 Toyo 888 : £675

Is this a good price ?

( http://www.retweeter.co.uk/magento/shop/ but there is some issue with their web site, so special offers don't always show up in your order basket - better to ring and check )

Tim.

I'd say thats a pretty good deal.
i'm currently looking at tyres, my wheels are 9.5" wide, 15" diameter, so looking for something like a 235/50r15, i'm coning up at £186 each for R888's very strange, seems very limited on tyres in the size i want
13" R888's are only £80 each...

Yes that is a cheap deal if your after new r888's. I had a deal with compomotives for the CXRS at £460 a set but i believe they have recently put that price up a bit, And r888's cheapest is £80 a tyre, so if you like team dynamic pro race wheels its a decent saving.
