Rothbury blat yesterday
I had a great drive out yesterday. Bishop Auckland to Gosforth - Tynemouth - Kenton - Morpeth - Rothbury and back home via Hexham.
Kenton to Rothbury was me in Mac#1, ZX9R ST, Caterham R500 superlight, Westfield with side pods.
For some strange reason i couldnt get close to the Caterham and Westfield seeing as they were close to race machines with ever-so-slightly mad
drivers
I promised myself at least one good local blat this year and that was it.
When i get car back on road i fancy driving the Middleton-in-teesdale to Alston road and then up Hartside pass. Dont know where hartside pass is
tho'!!
I also fancy a leisurely amble to Penrith and then down thro the lakes in summer.
For now tho' i realise i need a good suspension set up and better driving skills. Power is nice but technique is key.

Hmm, shame I missed that one Darren.
I guess the R500 was Peter then, and the Westie with pods was the red one? And the ZX9R was Mark?
Peter doesn't hang about does he?!
I'm glad you got out on one before the winter closes in. That's what most of the NE7ER's blats are like, which is why I keep
telling you about them!
Catch you on the next one.

Great roads arent they?
Hartside pass is great - my favourite road for the scenery, road surface and scones at the Hartside Cafe!
Head West past Hexham on the A69 and take the left hand turn towards Langley Castle and you're on it - the A686. Watch out for the flange though
- they love speed trapping excited bikers and rumour has it there is a police fireblade with rear facing camera...
Im promising myself to be driving it in mine in the spring!

That would be the unmarked one that passed me on the A1 a few months ago with his blue lights on. Dunno about the rear facing camera though.

So Darren, after being left behind, are you having second thoughts about what to do with engines this winter
You know they won't be any slower next spring so you might think again about a couple of extra valves in each cylinder.
Summer's here!!!!

the hartside pass is a must darren a fast run to the bottom then loads of twisty bits which then opens out towards the top near the cafe, one of my
personal faves(road and cafe)

I must say
It looks nice but I bet it's bleak in winter. It looks like the Buxton/Macclesfield
route, the Cat and Fiddle with the pub on the top.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
