At long last they've taken some action over a Policeman speeding.
Here
Justin
Who is this super hero? Sarge? ...No.
Rosemary, the telephone operator? ...No.
Penry, the mild-mannered janitor? ...Could be!

Did you note the rather pointed remark about whether he'll have a police car with driver while he's banned?
I'm sure lots of banned drivers wouldn't mine a chauffer-driven car while trying to do their work!

Personally, I'd rather he'd have got off. Cant comment on the circumstances in this case but there are plenty of times when it's
perfectly safe to do 90 in a 60 zone.
All this will do is increase the belief that the police in North Wales have got there policies on speed right, and the anti-speed campaigners will see
this conviction as a victory.
I would however have fined him for having a girly name.

But none when it's legal You can never predict what is going to happen so how can you say you would be safe, blowouts etc.. I've had
accidents below the 30 limit, who knows what would have happened if you were doing 3 times the speed
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

As for having accidents below the 30 limit, are you suggesting that we lower the national limit to 15mph just in case something scary happens. Or
maybe you (or the other party) just need to pay a little bit more attention. Drive faster, it sharpens the senses.

Why? they wouldn't have let you off for doing the same, and it wouldn't have made a tiny difference to their enforcement policies -
it's all about making the numbers and the cash if it were about safety they'd have more trafpol and no cameras. I'm absolutely and
fundamentally against one rule for them and one for us - only acceptable excuse is being in a police car with it's lights on a verified
emergency shout IMO.
It's just been on newsnight - dozens of his officers in their own cars have been let off by him. They'd even got clear pictures
from the cameras (after the information commissioner overruled them trying to keep them secret) and they still claimed not to be able to id them.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
