Braided brake hoses
Gents,
I have brake hoses whose external surface appears to be fine stainless steel braiding - as supplied by MK.
Various posts have mentioned covering the front ones with spiral-wrap. I don't have a problem with doing this, but I'm wondering what is
the reason for doing so...? The surface of the braiding is way, way smaller than anything that could constitute a sharp edge.
Any comments or observations by anyone who has undergone SVA with or without covering their hoses?
Thanks!
He's whittling on a piece of wood. I got a feeling that when he stops whittling, something's gonna happen. (OUATITW/Cheyenne)

think it is simply to protect the braiding against chaffing if it rubs against something, which it shouldn't be doing anyway (mind buying a kit
car once where the rubber hose had rubbed through to the canvas inside!) Many production cars have rubber tube over the hoses to do the same job. Fit
it for the SVA then bin it afterwards.

as stated, the stainless braid is like a file.
You can also use shrink wrap for this covering.

Try the clear fish tank tubing.
