Heel and toe

I am v. happy - I have been practicing heel and toe for a few days, and am just about getting the hang of it now. One question though, is it easy to do in a locost? More specifically an MK? And is it useful in a BEC?

easier for me in the kit due to closer pedal spacing

its sooooooooo last year since i bought the trickshifter.....

Sorry couldn't resist.

I find it pretty easy in the locost, similar foot well to MK especially as I made the pedals so there sat where I want them, just like driving a semi automatic now though.

I am too tall to do it in the Mk but the pedal arrangement does suit it.

I still blip where I can for both sound, ego and engine braking!

use to love heel toe-ing in my old clio v6, the blips just sounded awesome working down a 6 speed box

I learned it when I had my skyline and it made a big difference when tanking into a corner, the car just feels much more stable and you can concentrate on whats coming more rather than worrying about what the back wheels are gonna do when you let the clutch out.

My Indy's not done yet but I still heel toe my mondeo every now and then just for fun.

i do it basically all the time in the mk, must sound like an attention seeker, but as mark said, the car feels much more balanced...

It's possible in an MK, even with size 11 plates. The main problem is there's not much space to the right of the go pedal so there's limited space to rotate your foot. Basically means you have to really tiptoe the brake pedal. If I full-foot it, then I can't get my foot round to blip whereas I can in my Scooby.

See what I mean from about 1:30 onwards in this video: -

Very nice video there, makes me want to get some bullet cameras now! Best get practicing even more, and speed my H@T up ready for when I finish the car.

Thanks

Gingerprince that picture aint real is it??

I always did it on my road bikes and on some cars like my skyline and WRX

I got size 11's myself and find the pedals small and close on my MAC1. Also havnt found it to need it yet

Doin Brands end of Jan so I'll soon find out if I need to...after fracturing my heal, ankle, knee and a few ribs in september Im a little stiff on movement

Whats the quickshift thing all about. Is it for clutchless upshifts? How can it work going down?
