Ebay

I think I have been didled on ebay,
cheque cleared two weeks now and no lovley cortina uprights in the post despite promises and assurances, and now silence from the seller.

I will accept that buying from ppl with low feed back is a risk but cortina uprights is a funny one to didle ppl with, I'd have chosen a digital camera or something.

Just thought I would share my misery

Allways look on the bright side of life.

Where abouts was the seller from, maybe one or several of us could collect the items for you
Its about time Ebay did something about this sort of fraud.

I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

If your sure you've been done, make sure you leave neg feedback. Might stop someone else getting stitched up. Also post the git's details on here, prehaps we could make life uncomfortable for him

the fella is in the bristol area its not too far away from where i am in cardiff <hour
it just fups me off!!

I am thinking of paying him a visit myself, I think it will be a bit more difficult to ignore me when I am standing at his doorstep. I am quite imposing in person(international shot putter,(former))

This isn't the answer I know, there isn't alot I can do. Its not the money, it really isn't I had a pair of super condition tina uprights and now they've been nicked, as it were. Thats what I'm gutted about. it means that I have lost about 16% of my build budget and I cant aford to replace them so basically the build will have to wait.

I am going to repair my lathe instead.

one prob with leaving neg feedback is that if I can't be sure I've been had yet. It is still too soon.

As for making life uncomfortable for him, that sounds fun.

When I am sure I have been didled I may consider naming and shaming. I actually know quite a lot about this guy already.
But lets say I have a bit of a secret weapon when it comes to personal info!

tell him to send them or you will take him to small claims court. this costs about 60 quid which you will get back.

It will screw his credit up with a CCJ.

You could also tell him that you and two brothers are coming to get them.

Guess I was lucky, I bought mine from ebay too. It did take me three weeks to get them, but I did get them in the end.

Going round and punching the twats lights out is far easier/more satisfying.

Even if you take him to court dont mean you get your dosh as I found out to my dismay.
Cheers,
Bob

Really easy. about 8 years ago i got my neighbour for damaging a fence.

as long as the claim is less than 1000 quid, you just go to their local small claims court - which is usually at county court. you file papers and your sixty summat quid.

It then goes before a judge. You present your own case - thety dont expect solicitors.

You only have to prove 51% likelyhood. If you say you dont have the goods, and they cant prove they sent it, and if their ebay feedback is bad, and the fact that you are bringing the case, all tips it over that 50 - 50 margin.

its a doddle and fun when you win.

It can go wrong tho Steve as it did with me. The bum still wouldnt pay so instructed bailiffs, who went round he said he owned nowt, consequently paid for court fee, bailiffs and what he owed and still got nowt.

Sorted it the other way and got it all back, with interest.
Cheers,
Bob

Glad to hear it all got sorted. I realised yesterday that ebay are now letting people keep their feedback private. You can see someones rating but not see what people have written about them, this is a pain if they have had a few negative feedback.

Surely ebay works on the feedback principle, i cant understand why they are doing this, as they state that they will remove feedback under certain conditions ie. if someone makes stuff up.
