Years:Cars ratio
Ok, Bit of fun. Add up all of the cars that you have held log books for and have been driven for a week or more on the road (so you cant count your
partners car or a donor that you drove home once).
Add up the number of years you have been passed your driving test. Dont deduct any years that you may have been banned for!
years divided by cars. 2 decimal places.
Mine is,
18 cars
19 years
Ratio 1.05:1

= 3.33
but I've actually had twice as many scrap cars (that I've never driven on the road) in the same time

I'm quite happy with my high ratio
more so considering how cheap the cars have been

I was wondering how long it would be before someone asked what the ratio meant. TBH it doesnt mean anything really. Just curious how long people have
been passed test and how many cars they have had.
low ratio could mean several cars owned at once.
Company cars and track cars should be counted as well i guess if they have been 'owned' by you as in are your car for a duration.
Burgger, i forgot about bikes. Lets do cars only.

haven't the faintest idea how many I've had over the years, usually had 4 in the garage and 6 outside that continually changed. My
insurance company hated me for the number of times I changed my polices

My car changes are based on how bangerish the motors are, they all bangers in some peoples eyes (people with new cars).
I'm not one for wasting money changing motors when the one I've got is perfectly OK (apart from kits that is)
Example, purchased in 2000 an 8 year old salvage Rover 214. 55K, stolen recovered, class C. £140, £25 to fix. Sold 2007 with 101K £250.
Still see it riding around now

We did a list all the cars you have owned thread a while back but I can't seem to find it.
I would know my ratio better if I could see my list again.
Anyone remember what the thread was called?

that sounds almost exactly like me
in 2001 first car was 21 years old and cost my -£20 (ie free, and I got given £20 to put some fuel in it )
sold it 4 years later for £300 as a classic (aparently is just come off the road now for restoration)
Last year I got what I think is an expencive new car (7 year old focus 80k for a little over £2k) and certain people still ask me when I'm going
to get a new car !

Yes, every one. I excluded the multiple sierras i broke, except the one i drove a while. For a while i changed car every month, though in the last 3
years ive only had about 5 new motors (the car me and the wife share, 2 vans, 2 road legal kits etc).
It does admittedly include about 5 cars i owned before i had a license

9 years driving 11 cars. 12 including the locost. Actually 13 cos iv now got another to fix and sell.
16-17 years old. 3 motorbikes. 2 50's and 1 100cc.
hell knows what the ratio is. To asleep and dim to work it out.
