Best Cheap Advanced type driving course

My 7esque is almost ready for the road, SVA on Friday 13th March, and seeing as I don't want to come off at the first hairpin going a tad too fast I was wondering what driving course (cheap) are available.

I'm after something like skid pan for handling the backend and general speed driving.

I live in Bracknell, Berkshire so anything near there would be great.

Cheers guys

Probably a bit far but we are doing one for our drivers at goodwood. Maybe a track near you?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I'd say do a few track days and take up the optional instruction there myself. You generally get the first session free and can pay for additional instruction.

how about saving the hundreds pf pounds on instructors and courses and just drive safely and responsibly and not like a complete P***k. you will learn the limits of your car the more your drive it, i think you will value your own life more as soon as you get behind the wheel and realise how different they are to conventional tintops

In all fairness, you can get caught out in a RWD seven just doing things that wouldn't be an issue with a FWD.

Often thay can be quite simple things, such as cornering - going briskly round a fast, sweeping bend and changing gear, upsetting the balance of the car and spinning out. When you know what you're doing (i.e. going in slow, in the right gear, and accelerating through the bend) you can go round the same corner without incident - but you do have to learn stuff with a RWD car if you've never driven one before.

Though a new 7 driver will find the impression of speed enough to keep the driving sensible for a while...

Welcome tendoshingan, another bracknel'ite.

I live nearby, and to be honest, I kept it safe for the fisrt few months, and then I went to a trackday art Bruntinghthorpe, to try learn the limits of the car and of me.

I have been told, but have it to be confirmed, that it is possible to hire out the TRL skid pad, but I believe that it would need a number of us to make it financially worthwile.

You going to come along to the meet at the seven stars on sunday?

Does this mean all advanced driving instructors drive like complete P**KS, and what happens when things do go wrong and they do, advanced driving courses can help prevent accidents as well, i know i have been thinking of doing one.
Your reply makes you look like one Omega.
