Santa Pod Today

I took the Stylus to the pod for its first outing, really pleased, managed an 11.7 and an 11.9 and 2 12.1's in reverse order! Had to be gentle with the clutch as on the first run i launched hard and managed a 1.8 60ft but the clutch didnt land all the way up the strip so rolled across the line at 96 mph in 12.6. The other runs were more gentle starts with 2.0 ish 60ft times.

Not bad for its first outing!

There was an impessive green pheonix with a cossie engine in that ran 10.7 at 137

Bugger you beat me 11.7 that's very impressive for your first time, if you could launch harder you could improve that easily.

Last time i went my best was a 12.1 but im the same protecting the clutch.

Was thinking of coming but my turbo just about fell of Friday so its in bits waiting for some manifold studs

Dave..

sorry

When i put the car together i just used the stock 2nd hand clutch that came with the engine, its been fine despite much trackday abuse! But it didnt like it today!

The 11.7 run was a 2.0 60ft, i managed a 1.8 on the first run, if i could do a sucessfull run with a 1.8 i reckon i could see 11.5 - 11.6.

I stopped going drag racing a few years ago, today i remembered why, i managed 5 runs in total from 9 am until 3pm, i was queueing the whole time and didnt see any of the racing!

Its not what i would call fun! I just wanted to see what the car would do before i put a proper turbo on it that will run more that 0.5 bar

i know what you mean ive been twice and only done 4 runs each time.

Its funny watching some of the very expensive tin tops next to you in the queue trying not to go up against you though
I had one guy in a new ls powered mustang thing refuse to go when we were waved forward ended up against some chav in a standard golf
