Is it possible to blue tyres??

I know you can blue steel by overheating it, I have seen the state of my old clutch plates.

But can you blue tyres????

Blue Tyre
Blue Tyre

This is one of my R888's that has just come off the Indy. It's 3 years old, done 5,500 miles, 6 trackdays and they are now down to the wear bars (well the back ones are just past it, the fronts have a little tread left).

All 4 have a distinct blue section around the outer edge.

Do I need to adjust my suspension???? The wear across the tyres looks totally even, no bald shoulders, or centre section.

Mike

hey Mike, I notice the tyre blueing is a very similar colour to your car

Respray the car red, wait 3 years and see if there are red marks on the tyres

yep, as said,
it shows that your tyres have been working well with your driving style & car set up,
tho depending on tyre make, a tyre has so many heat cycles then they start to "go off".

cheers

"I blue myself"

The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make it moral.
