handling balance

having only ever driven a front engined- rear drive BEC i was wondering wether front engine rear drive is the way to go for my next project,or to try something mid engined eg sylva r1ot. MEV?
how do mid engined cars compare to front engined cars on the track in terms of driveability, handling and lap times. would CEC be the way to go with mid engined layout, especially with iva now up and running

Have not got a clue, but if you go and watch some old mini's thrashing around a track they do look like fun, flat out at everthing !!!

Lotus made a FWD elan in the 80's, must be something in it.
