Barkston Heath Trackday..Opinions sought??

Hi everyone. Our Stuart Taylor Phoenix Fireblade build is nearing completion and we are looking for a suitable venue for a "shakedown" session.
We have previously been to Elvington but we are concerned about the uneven track surface, particularly around the long top right hander. Our suspension settings are a bit of a stab in the dark and we have somewhat limited wheel travel.
The abrasiveness of the surface is no great problem and our prior experience of Javelin has been very good.
As quick as the car should eventually be we don't want to get in the way while we are just testing.
Which brings me to Barkston Heath. There would seem to be THREE "circuits", for want of a better name. One primarily for "drifting", although sideways antics are not compulsory, one is more like a sprint course and the last an open area of tarmac for tyresmoking etc.
You have to queue up after each run.
A plus point is a higher noise limit.
So how much queueing up is involved in a typical day?
How many "runs" can one expect?
The venue itself is nearer for us and much cheaper. I'm no miser but I don't relish parting with £150 for a full day only to find an unforeseen problem with our as yet untested car.
Please post your experiences of Barkston to help us decide.
Full day Barkston or possibly Half day Elvington??

Thankyou, Geoff.

sounds a good idea, the only thing I'd be worried about in using the car in anger for a shakedown.

How sure are you that it is not running very lean? ragging the engine might lead to a holed piston.

Dont know anything about that track sorry,

barkston is good
grippy in the dry , slippy in the wet,
only one real line, on the tarmac, or on grass!
(quite narrow)
couple of bends are bad to get wrong, as there are tyres/wall in the way
but all in all good cheap day out

i go there at leat once or twice a year...
killed my pinto oil pump last time out ;(

We won't be going ten-tenths by any means.
Neither of us could drive a greasy stick up a dog's arse anyway!!
The engine should be fine as it retains the standard injection system, ECU, even the standard airbox.

Dave r, how much actual track time could we expect?
Do you favour the sprint course or the drift course?
Thanks, Geoff.

Bruntingthorpe is about the safest and most even, all off's can only result in landing on the grass

I personally wont go again, poor surface hammers your car(standard mr2 at the time). A few people only did a couple of runs and left
On the plus side i did get pretty much as many runs as i wanted...
