Fuel Pipes....Advice Please

I've made and run my fuel pipes using 8mm Copper pipe....very nice they are too! What do I need to do with the ends though? Do they need some kind of flare on them before fitting flexi hose to them? Its for Injection not carbs so High Pressure?
Thanks.

Solder on a olive?

This was discussed quite recently on the Haynes forum
Link

General consensus was to 'sweat' on an olive, or to use the brake flaring kit to flare out the end a tad.

Yes, solder a copper olive onto the pipe, and use fuel clips, not jubilee.

An olive is a good trick. Just get some 8mm olives, some flux and solder and a blowtorch. Very simple to do and works nicely.

locost version is to take some twin and earth and strip out a short lkenght of solid copper wire.

wrap a couple of times round the pipe, cover with solder and filew smooth.

job done et simples.

why not fit a compression fitting as used in gas fittings that give you a hose tale for your flex hose

I don't have the IVA manual over here, but isn't it allowed to use only a rubber hose between tank and engine so you don't have to make these fittings?

I didn't do anything to mine - had no problems.

Id never heard of the soldering methods and i would probably take that option as i went the flared ends route and you have to be quite careful to get it right - especially as mine was secured in place before i made the ends - mistake!

How long would a soldered olive last and any pics of one?

Put a flare on using a brake pipe flaring tool. Mine came with a set of formers and one matched my 8mm pipe. Two years on and no leaks.
