Croft race weekend pics & vids
We had a pretty good weekend's racing at Croft, two class D second places, with the Civic (No67) going quicker than it's ever gone round
the circuit on Saturday. Pete's lap times are now down in the 1-38s, and logging a top speed of 112mph.. not bad for a lil' ol' 1.6
Civic.
We used a cheapo ebay spy cam (£8) ponting backwards and got some pretty good results. (It handles the kerb rattling better than the didgi cam, which
keeps losing focus annoyingly!) There shoud be some vids on youtube in the next couple of days.
Loads o' pics.
Saturday's start:
..A few Britcars:
Sunday's start:

Thats one diverse field!!!!!!!!!
Those spy cams are great for motorsport aren't they, so cheap you can afford to strap them onto the the most vulnerable and exciting places

What class is that? Seems a huge range of different cars racing together...
Looks good fun!

NSSCC is Northern Sports and Saloons. Basically, turn up with a car, and within reason you'll fit in a class.
The Civic is class D. 1600cc on 1b tyres.

The green Stilletto is actually a Suzuki SC100 ... with a tuned Busa engine and Hewland transaxle, ..you know the one..

This is an interesting thing:
The front suspension almost looks like a VW beam in this picture! I assume it has Sylva style rockers?
As for the 'roll bar' erm, was the scrutineer blind or has the mandatory diag fallen off?

It's a formula 27, been racing a good few years, so I'd be surprised if the roll bar doesn't comply. Looking briefly at the blue
book of interesting things, there's a diagram of a very basic hoop and two stays on page 179 suitable for "sports cars up to 2000cc"
... dunno..

Feel free to PM me, if I can be of any help I will.
The regulations for the championship are on the DDMC website HERE
Kit cars on 1b tyres are, I think class E. Class E was won in both races by a Loco-blade.

Video footage from the two races are on youtube, the front camera ia a £250 Sony digi-cam, looses focus over the bumps, my appologies.. rear view
camera is an £8 spy cam off ebay, holds steady over the bumps!
First race, funny stuff at the start is taking the pee out of the rapid starting BMW. ;-)
Second race

sd cards don't perform as well as others - Bit like me!! lol
