anyone work with ally for dash project?

is anyone on here able to work and cut ally for mounting clocks and switches?
i ideally want something 8-10 mm thick as long as can pass the radius test, it will be rectangular in shape but will have a semi circular cut out for clocks and 3 small rectangles for swtches

I would have thought any laser cutting place could do it for you.

Make it in 3mm, or thinner if you can brace it behind.

A good engineering shop should be able to roll a 19mm radius on the bottom for you.

Daniel - do we understand right that you want to make an entire 1 piece dash out of 10mm thick ally?

That will cost a rather large wad to get the material alone, never mind getting it machined, finished (anodised) and fitted.

...or do you mean an insert panel to fit into/behind a GRP/Carbon dash panel?

I don't think the entire dash is going to be made from 10mm ali sounds like a little centre console type thang....

Me too. 3mm with a small brace behind the switch area. 10mm is a bit extreme

Ample and much easier to get hold and work with. Water jet or laser profiling would be an easy job, but it really wouldn't be hard to do manually with hole saws/files etc.
