Winter drive out

Drove car home from old house. Cold, raining. Expected horrible time, but apart from lots of wheel spin it was actually fine.

The worst thing was the glare off my savage switches making the dark lanes a little tricky. Anyone else find this?

I think I'll do it more often!

I found the Savage switches much too bright at night so I put a variable resistor in series to dim them down - works a treat.

I dont have savages' but i do have a peice of gaffa tape to put over the blue mainbeam lamp for that reason, with the tape on its just a nice brightness...

Spray on the screen is the real issue, inside and outside.

Spray isn't a problem if you don't have a windscreen.

I like the idea of a resistor, wouldn't have a clue how to do it though!

Any numpty advice?

Right foot was only a problem in 1st and 2nd, plus I didn't push on hardly at all.

You can put practically any small variable resistor in series with the power feed to the LEDs on the switches. I think I used a 2K Ohm version on mine (5 years ago now) Connect one side to the +ve feed and the wiper to the LEDs and you can then adjust it to whatever level is right for you.
