New car hopefully...

Going to pick up my new car on saturday all being well. Its a bit of a trek to Swansea to get it though!

1995 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo
Imported in 2008, 1 UK owner
60k miles
Nice condition for its age, and probably in the best colour too.

280bhp, 300lbft 3.0 V6

Not a small car by any stretch, but that means its got a big boot and some back seats...

Insurance isn't too mental for a group 20 car as its not modified. Not sure what the running costs are going to be like. Quoted fuel economy varies between 20 and 35mpg depending on driving style....

I just hope its as good as it looks and I dont do a 520mile round trip for nothing....

Git git git git git! (I'm jealous...)

Iirc the back seats are about as big as you need for someone with no legs, and that 25-30mpg is downhill! I'd reckon you're more likely get 15-20, or you're driving it like a grandma in which case you don't deserve it!

Have fun

There's a black one of those stood down the road from us with 3" of dust on it and four flat tyres, it looks very sorry for itself. My friend had one with full race pack and all wheel steering a few years ago and replaced it with a 350Z. 35 is very optimistic

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

had a 3000gt twin turbo a while back.
awesome car, expect the mpg to be closer to the 20 mark no matter how you drive though!
the rear wheel steering takes some getting used to (if you have that).
Loved mine to bits before it blew up!

oh that's very classy, I bet that's just what my missus wished I drove when picking her up

don't fancy working on the engine as there is little room to work on anything

good choice of car though

Well we will see on the MPG front. I have a 260mile ride home, so that will give me a good idea. Its got a 75 litre tank, so fill ups are going to be pricey...

Its got all the options fitted. 4wd, 4ws, climate, active aero, lsd's, active exhausts, etc etc.

It will be staying standard as I want to keep the insurance cost down as much as I can. Its the only way I can justify trading in a 50mpg diesel!

Not sure if I will keep it very long (will depend on how I get on with it) but its one of those cars that brings back so many memories

hope it's better than one of those Evo's or scoobies as friends seem to be getting about 9mpg out them, even my brother in laws Mitsubishi Forester is getting less than 20mph! He’s like why is this thing so bad on fuel?!! Well lets see, it’s 4wd and turbo’d...pays over £400 a year in road tax too god

Is that before it becomes a donor?

People said I would only get 30mpg from my VTR, but I consistently get 48 on my commute run.

If you use the power all the time I can see why they only get 9mpg!

Time will tell

I'm happy to pop and see it if you want - that garage is only a few miles away from me.

You are right, its not. If I was that worried about it I wouldnt be changing my car in the first place. I dont do the mileage on 4 wheels now, so its not top of the priorities any more.

That looks really nice, drove one for a few weeks back in 2000 when i worked for a Jap import place. I did a similar move in October, funnily enough after swapping fiancee's car for a newer Leon FR Tdi which is a fantastic car.

I wasn't using my VXR so sold it for a 630bhp (should be 750ish soon) R33 GTR V-Spec Skyline and am loving it.

I didn't find the insurance too bad. After recommendation on a Skyline forum i found a specialist that has covered me for £590 with all modifications declared
