Epic
Can only describe today as epic. Took the roadster out for its first trip since i have had it running properly of more than a couple of miles.
Grantham to lincoln and back, took the strightest route there, was full of trepidation and didnt enjoy too much as i was waiting for something to go
pop or stop working. Way back, took the scenic route, loved it, the sound the noise, the handling, outburbled the exhaust note of a 308 ferrari,
declined a race with a diesel badged nova with some crazy turbo engine under the bonnet, outposed some dolly bird in her audi convertible, had fun,
nothing too spirited but enough to get the juices flowing, deliberately driving to get the exhaust popping on the downshift. All my young cousins were
bowled over by the car and all had a pretend go driving. Just a genuinely fun day out driving and getting a feel for the car.
Tyres set at 28 psi feels fine (Mx5 tyre pressure setting) Is it a matter of feel with regards the tyre presure that is best??
Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Glad you have all sorted and are now having the fun part.
Tyres seem a bit high, I would try lower down around 20 psi.
Not sure how good a test this is, but I used one of these thermal IR thermometers on my tyres did a bit of straight motorway miles and then checked
tyres across the tread inner middle and outer. Found the middle was hotter so kept dripping pressures until it started to match across the tyre.
found this was approx 18 psi.
I guess it depends on side-walls width of tyre etc.
Perhaps someone can say if this method is any good.

It's a great feeling when a plan comes together!
For tyre pressures, try them a bit softer, then a bit harder and go from there! Depends on the tyres and your driving style. I know my car isn't
quite traditional but it was undrivable with 28psi in the fronts so I've ended up with 18 (A021Rs). Got the rears set a bit hard to try to get
the car to oversteer rather than understeer!

I enjoyed reading that. It gave me a spur and something to look forward to..........eventually.

my roadster likes about 20 in the front and rear for road driving. drop them down to 18 for track days.
you will notice that the steering will become a fair bit more weighty but the cornering grip will almost double compared to running at 28psi like i
did at first.
as for that nova i would of had a go he may of had a sleeper with a turbo but i still would of properly humiliated him as i also have a turbo. oh
and half the weight and a nice lsd to put it down properly through the rear wheels some people just wont learn but i dont mind teaching them over
and over again there is a chap round my way with an evo fq430, it doesnt matter how many times i leave him like he is not moving he always wants to
have a go when he sees me
