Dirt Cheap Workhorse/Tow car.
Just picked up a newer car so my trusty workhorse is going. To be honest I know is only worth scrap value but I'd rather someone who needs
something has it than send a useful car to the crusher.
Anyway...
Pug 406 1.9 DT Estate w/ Tow bar and roof rack
Mechanically sound, good engine, clutch and gearbox, suspension and brakes are good. All electrics also work. I have done 20,000 trouble free miles in
the last 8 months.
It also runs on 100% veg oil, heating oil, hydraulic oil or whatever oil you can find and does 40-45mpg.
The bodywork is dented to hell though and the interior is pretty filthy.
MOT and Tax have just run out, if anyone is interested its in Derby, make me any offer and you can have it, otherwise it will sadly be scrapped
This is the only pic I can find:

Why is it greater than a Beattles album?

It was a feeble attempt at a joke.
It's had more hits than The Beatles.
My apologies.
You described the car honestly enough.

Ahhh I see, yes it has had many hits.
Some of the dents happened while trying to lift this sofa onto the roof.
Note: girls not included in the sale.
Any offer takes it? I just hate to see useable cars go to the scrapyard.

Well I didn't, being the only male involved I was stood at the side directing the movements, the girls did drop it at one point, that put the
big dent in the Right Rear Door.

Can it drive 60 miles to an MOT centre? Anything obviously wrong with it in terms of MOTing?

It drives perfectly, I've been doing 120 miles a day in it up until Friday, thats why I'd rather let someone have it than scrap it.
No clunks bangs of bits not working.
In terms of an MOT it might fail on the front tyres as they are pretty worn but they are far from bald.
If I hadn't picked up this cheap HDI Rapier Estate I found on Sat' I would have MOT'd it and kept using it.

Its a horrid green 406, covered in dents, scratches, diesel soot and oily hand prints... I'm struggling to see the relelvance of pictures,
certainly I would never take any of such a car.
MOT and Tax ran out at the end of May.
A few people have asked if its free or not.
I thought as I have got so many good deals on here that Yes a Locost Builder can have it for free (instead of weighing it in for scrap, as long as:
Its gone by next weekend and I don't have to faff around at all.
You make a small donation (whatever you feel fair) to the NSPCC.
If you want to get rid of it you pass it onto someone else.
PSprine has shown interest first, if he doesn't have it then Marc Jagman showed second interest.

If it helps, I've physically seen the car - it looks like sh17 but seems to go okay - at least it did 5 weeks ago.

I would for the laughs, but the missus would have something to say about it...
Why not slap it on ebay (if no-one here wants it) and say all proceeds are going to the NS-whichever one it was

Because I hate faffing about, everyone on ebay is such a timewaster, flip-flopping around, messing me about which I really don't have time for.
Its not worth enough money to make it worth the effort.
There is a scrappy 2 mies from my house, if its not gone by next Saturday I'll drive it there and weigh it in for a few pounds. It will be a
shame to scrap a good tow/comuter car but if I can't give it away then thats the last option.

Cheers mate, let me know how many miles it covers. Glad it went to someone who will use it for something useful.
By the way forgot to say that it has a bit of an idiosynchracy were between 70°-85° on the water temp gauge it makes a lot of black smoke, No idea why
but when the temp gets above 85° it clears up, has done it the entire time I have owned it.
Will enjoy the Jamesons on Friday night I think after watching Senna hopefully.
