Zetec low oil pressure?
Zetec 2.0 silevertop - I have a problem with low oil pressure, I have trie 2 different oil pumps to no avail.
When the engine is cold there is oil presure there but when hot it drops to around 10 psi and the oil light flickers.
if reved when hot the oil gaugehardley goes up. I also noticed clattering from the top end.
Would worn big ends cause this as i am at a loss and i am thinking of upgrading to the blacktop engine?

what oil are you using ?

The oil is 5w/30

Drop the sump and have a look at the big ends? I've stripped zetecs with 150K and found very little wear if treated well.
