Wheel Studs

I'm looking to put longer studs on before my 1st attempt on a track so I ordered what I thought was correct.

12x1.5 Standard +13mm (47mm) Ford ones from here:
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Search.do?method=delegate&n=1288&p=243674&s=wheel+studs

They turned up, took my old studs out. Popped in a new one and the splines on the new ones was too small.

New splines dia 13.2mm

Original spline dia 13.8mm
Hole dia approx 13.5mm

From a bit of a search all replacement ones for the Escort MK2 are 13.1mm spline dia.

I did look at the Rally Design ones but they don't specify a spline diameter plus there is a stupid £9.50 postage charge too

Any clues or pointers for what I might need as I'm a little stumped?

I've phoned Rally Design and haggled the postage! Got two sets of bushes and the p and p was £3.
Sorry, no help with your studs.

I got Studs a few years ago from Larkspeed in Leeds. But, with me living here i collected them myself so i wouldn't know what the postage would be.

Thanks for the replies. Most of the link/companies above don't state the diameter of the splines so I don't know if they will fit.

I've found most have 13.1mm diameter splines which are far too small for my Mk2 Escort hubs

There are also some 14.3mm diameter splines but as my holes are only 13.5 I guess these would be too large to fit?

So guess I'm stumped and refitting the short ones and hope they are ok....

Another more specialist place to try is Speedshack who claim to know the difference between the various ford nuts and bolts. Their website looks promising. Speedshack Have a look and ring them. 01895 449066 They do look switched on.

Performance car shop on ebay have ford Ka studs which have a spline 14.0mm which would seem about right for a press fit into a 13.8 hole!

Dont buy anything from Compbrake, its run by the idiot who used to be behind TAS, i had a Nova quick rack from them, it snapped in 2, also a brake bias bar, also snapped in 2 !! also heard plenty of reports of simular failures including wheelstuds. They just dont understand what type of steel to use, nor heat treatment.
