Fitting bodywork - advice needed
Hi all
I'm looking for some help regarding fitting the tub bodywork.
Yesterday after spending many many many hours in the garage and dismantling half the car to fit the tub and cracking the gel coating there seems
to a very large gap between the panels at the front and the bottom rails underneath, is this right? I was expecting it to fit quite snuggly around the
top and bottom rails. If this is right what is the best way to fix it to the chassis? Will the nose cone support it ? It seems to be a rather large gap
to try and fill and attach to the chassis, I hope this doesn't sound too confusing.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Thanks guys

Fitting bodywork
Thanks for the replys, I'll try and post some photos soon as to try and show what I mean. I have about an inch gap between the bottom chassis
rail and the bottom of the shell, it fits snug then starts to flare out about 2 Foot from the front of the car.
Cheers

Fitting bodywork
Hi Ben
Yes I'm talking about below the chassis rail, it might be thats how it should be, I get it should flare out and the lip at the bottom gets wider
the nearer the front of the car you get, it's just the gap between the lip underneath the rail at the front and the chassis. I'll try and
get some photos up.
Cheers

Hi Mark
How old is your chassis ?
Did you get the bodywork with it or did you buy separate ?
It looks like an older chassis with the newer bodywork which MNR told me was taller than the older style bodywork.

Fitting bodywork
Hi Rob
Yes you're right, it is an older chassis (No.63) what you have said makes sense.
The original orange bodywork was a bit tatty from lying around for so long before I got it, then fancied a different colour.
Wasn't told there was a difference between the new and old when I bought it from Chris at MNR and he knew I had the older chassis, I have e
mailed them to see if they have any ideas, can't afford more bodywork at the moment, may have to try and make some sort of bracket to make it
work ??
Thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated.

Hi Mark
Here's a measurement for you to compare with.
Height of body measured on engine side, just in front of the scuttle panel 370mm
What does yours measure ?

Just heard back from Marc at MNR, and the newer bodywork is taller, apparently in the past they have used aluminium angle bracket to secure it to the
chassis, guess that what ill have to do.
Thanks for feedback guys.
