It's Spring again!

By some freak of nature, it's been a glorious day today...

I went into the garage this afternoon to bleed the brakes on the Locost - a job I'd been putting off because the weather's been so cold and miserable - I didn't see why I should suffer when I wasn't going to want to drive the car anyway! (yes - I know - wimp). Nice and cosy in the sunshine at the front of my garage, got the brakes bled without too much bother, so thought... why not?

Took the car out for a few miles of pottering round the local roads, nothing extreme, with no winter-style clothing - just normal round-the-house clothes, plus gloves and a hat. Glorious! When I got home I was just feeling cool, not cold. That's probably the first time I've taken the car out since before Christmas.

Just a shame that this nice weather is only for today, and we're back to grey, cold and wet from tomorrow...
...still, maybe next week?

Sunshine, what sunshine....

Been foggy all day around Barnsley. Not seen the sunshine since Sunday. Had a cracking 1st drive out across the peak district on Sunday morning (100 mile run) with a few mates all in different cars (Roadrunner SR2, MK, Mev, Zero), bit nippy driving over the peaks with snow and Ice still on the ground, but definately blew out the cobwebs.

Bring on the sunshine

Much the same here... getting quite cold now the sun's going down though.

To reinforce the 'it must be Spring' message, I even managed to fly one of my R/C multicopters in the back garden this afternoon, and I haven't been able to do that since November!

Dont let the sun fool you, the roads are covered in salt, temp is too low for summer tyres...

I was out touching up the paint on our 16' day boat (for sale BTW ) yesterday and had to beat of several bees over about 10 mins. Think they are starting to look for nesting sites.

Spring is most definitely in the air even if we do get another cold/wet snap.

It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

It's Spring again!

I wish someone would tell my garden then !!, the daffs are only just starting to poke through, darn sure they were in flower this time last year?.

Taxed the car yesterday and took a short run out to make sure all was still well with the thing, it was... Still a bit nippy once the sun drops away though !!.

We went down to Northampton today and it was like the Tropics down there with daffs in flower and sunshine. Coming back up M1 about 11.00 and as soon as we got neat Donington and East Midlands airport you couldn't see sides of the road the fog was so thick.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
