Garmin and tyre routes - help
I've got a garmin nuvi 1490, the guy i bought it off said i can create my own routes etc and add them too it
I'm using the software 'tyre' to create the routes, but cant get them to work on the satnav
when i go on to 'routes' on the garmin it tells me there isnt any, theres nothing in the import routes in the settings menu either
cant anyone tell me how to do it?!

Agree with ash but be careful which tomtom you buy. The newer ones don't have enough waypoints. I've just bought another xxl and that is
good for what we need in skcc

2 guys have tried to use a Garmin for our tour in the last few years and both regretted it.

Are you saving the Tyre files in the correct format in the right directory on the Sat-Nav ? They should be GPX files and saved to the GPX
directory.
On my 2000 series Nuvi the downloaded trips are found by selecting apps and then Trip planner. They don't appear in amongst the ordinary route
files.

figured it out
I was saving it and then copying it to the gpx folder.
but on tyre, along the top theres a menu for garmin and a button to copy to garmin, then it works fine
might try basecamp too to see if thats any better
