Fail. CO high on the emmisions test. But on the plus side that was all. The tester Andy was great. Just need to find out what's wrong and get it
back in. Probably drive it up next time.

How long did they take to do the test? Presumably they got your there for 8.00?

Readings should be under 3.00 for the CO and mine was 4.5 at it's lowest.
It's pre 95 silvertop zetec 2L with a home made plenum. Original ECU, Maff, air temp, lambda etc.
Blacktop throttle body, TPS and injector rail

Appointment was for 1PM and started bang on time. Started loading car back onto trailer about 3.40pm

That's seriously rich. Your set-up should be 0.5-1% I'd expect.
I'd look for air leaks. Could be inlet side but I'd guess at exhaust being favorite. Somewhere before the lambda sensor would make the
lambda see a lot of O2, ECU assumes weak and increases fueling, still sees high O2, more fuel...
Other possible suspects, temp sender or the lambda itself.

Congratulations (almost), pretty good result all considered.
Just a thought, did you use the ecu, maf, thottle body, tps and injector rail all from the same car as they tend to be matched (assuming you are
using the tyoe iv ecu without pats). I had a similar set up using a ginetta plenum with no problems so fundamentally should be no problems.

Good call. I've done a flash read of it tonight and I'm getting a lean mixture code.

I'm using a DEEP ecu. Silvertop maff, air temp, water temp, ISV
Blacktop fuel rail, injectors, throttle body and TPS

Blacktop tps gives different values to the silvertop but that just caused a little bit of a flat spot. Also injectors are different with the
silvertop's being side fed.
Again iv'e seen a a similar spec (Standard Black top with silver top ecu) using the oem manifold through iva and it passed fine. The latter
ecu's are easier to fault find with the obd2 but ive found nearly all running issues to be air leaks.

Also check air temp sensor if it has one, without it my ford ecu defaults the inlet temp to minus 40

Actually it failed on not enough rubber on the track rod extensions which I was going to fix there and then . When it failed emmisions I thought
I'd just do it at home. If emmisions had passed I would have come away with a pass.

Yes using lambda. I've been lent a Gunson CO meter. It's probably crap but I'll run it up and see what that reads so I can use it
as a reference point . I'm going to check exhaust leaks first then change leads and work from there. If I think I'm getting somewhere I
can now drive it to a garage for an emmisions test

Think I've got it sorted. A voltmeter on the lambda sensor was registering really low volts. Took it out, heated with a blowtorch and it's
sorted!! CO and HC is ok at idle but Lambda is up to 1.3. Don't think lambda is used for the natural idle though so don't see that as a
problem.
All three are fine at fast idle so looks like it'll be a pass. Can't get it in till 18th September though
Took it to my local garage on Friday for emmisions check.Twice.. Jesus it's quick. It's creaking like mad though so greasing up the
suspension today.

Yes, lambda isn't checked at idle.
If the sensor is sooted up it insulates it from the gas and reads as weak so the ECU adds fuel, still gets weak reading and adds... Lot's of
cold starts and running at idle in the garage will cause it. Burning it off with a blow-torch is an old trick from when the ECU controls weren't
as good as they are now.

Retest today and sailed through with a CO reading of 0.6. Just the dreaded DVLA to do now.
