Peugeot 206 throttle pot help please

Hi All,

A colleague is trying to source a throttle pot for a Peugeot 206 (photos below). My understanding is that it contains 2x pots which sense something on the wipers and tell the ECU when there's an error. 1x pot has failed and with an MoT looming he's looking to fit another part. Peugeot have said it's not available and a 2nd hand scrap yard part would be the best solution. Scrappies are quoting in the order of £500 for a used one off a high mileage 206 (his is low mileage and in good order).

I can't find one on ebay or elsewhere and am hoping you lot may have an answer?

I think I have one of these, bought from a scrap yard a few years ago, not at anywhere near that price though.

Annoyingly I threw it out the other day as we're moving, but I think that bin goes out next week.

I'll take a look when I get home and report back if I can find it and it's the right thing

Ideal - if you can find it I think he'd buy it and try it

I'm more familiar with 205s, but have to be honest and say 206s are more of a mystery to me

A 306/xsara/berlingo etc 2.0 hdi all have a similar throttle sensor setup. I don't know if its electrically identical, but could be made to work one way or another for the price difference.
I take it the +5v and earth feeds to the sensor have been checked, and it is a noisy output from the sensor throwing fault codes?

The Mrs thought I was a bit nuts going through the half full bin but I found it. I think it's the same thing

It's a bit greasy/dirty but I imagine that will clean off ok. It still rotates freely and springs back to its usual position without issue.

Hi,

Quick post to say that the part has arrived and been passed over to my colleague - he's looking to fit it this weekend.

A BIG thanks for your effort in finding and sending it to me, very much appreciated!

If you have any problems Fuel Parts list them --- I fitted one a couple of years back to a 306 ISTR or three or more different part numbers,

A final note to advise that the FoC part supplied was easy to fit, worked perfectly and secured the MoT pass.

THANKS!
