Chopping 05 Blade Sump?

So I finally have my 05 Blade engine fitted to my car (upgrade from 919) and after a lot of screwing around managed to get it under the bonnet but of course the sump sits pretty close to the ground at about 50mm at its lowest point.
I was originally intending to go for an AB Performance sump & baffle plate however funds are a bit short at the moment so I am looking for an interim alternative and was thinking of chopping and modifying the factory sump so wanted to get other peoples opinion on this and see if others had been down this track before?

I will of course need to make sure the sump can hold the same amount of oil (or maybe a smidge more) and also will buy an AB Performance baffle plate if they fit with the factory sump?

You can see how much I need to take off the sump in the pic below, the pencil line level with the bottom of the chassis.

I will also need to shorten the pickup assembly which can be seen in the factory sump pic below:

AFAIK the sump is magnesium, so you'll struggle to chop it down. Well, the choping will be easy, making it oil-tight again afterwards perhaps not so much

Very unlikely the AB baffle plate will fit, the shape is completely different.

Farts.....plan B then will be to make a new sump and baffle plate from scratch. More effort but doable (I think that's a word). Anyone else been down this route?
