My Avon is back on the road!

She's legally back on the road, just in time for my daughters prom on Wednesday night - it was obviously never in doubt was it

It has it's 20 year birthday next month, last on the road being used in 2009.
It seemed a lot better idea 20 years ago, but let's see how we get on with it, few little jobs to sort after prom.

Congratulations

I'm also working toward getting my car back on the road.

Last in use in 2016 - I took the dash' apart to fix some wiring issues and a bit of scope creep (plus motivational problems) has seen it take the last 8 years to get close to finished.

If I work hard it might be done by Winter 2024

Thanks all

It's been a bit of a struggle as I already had other things planned for weekends, but we've got there. I had forgotten so many things about the car that it's exciting finding out how some things work again!

One thing I'd recommend to anyone building is make more notes! Initially my fog light didn't work, and after much head scratching and poking about with a multimeter I realised that there was a couple of fuses missing out of the fuse box. I replaced those and it worked! I have no idea what any fuse actually does! So one day I should work that out

Tonight I need to look at a sticky front brake and give it a better clean, then I'm just going to tootle to work in it while it's sunny

Well done, great to have another kit back on the road again.

Be careful as your tyres might no longer be rubberlike and more like plastic if you've not replaced them recently.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

that's a short "tootle" (mine was 20 miles each way (more if I took a scenic route))

My wife was pregnant with our first son when I was building it and I was racing against the pregnancy to get it finished before
he was born and all free time would disappear!!
