There are 2 sorts of accidents that spring to mind from poor roads.
The first is roads collapsing etc.
The second is people driving beyond there ability and losing control. This is barely an accident in my opinion, its bad/dangerous driving. In short if
you drive to fast, what do you expect.

it would probably be simpler if we told them what roads were ok, and let them fix the rest.
anyone seen a road that doesnt need resurfacing?!

The only road out of our estate, was only resurfaced about 2 months ago, and is in a worse state now than it was before they did anything to
it

As far as I'm concerned, spreading chippings onto hot tar is NOT a resurface
Good for windscreen companies and respray shops!!!

Here in Fife we have not bad roads .......not bad when compared to the real bad roads in the Edinburgh area. We saw a pothole near the airport that
was 100 mm deep! They patch everywhere and in a seven you get every bump. The Forth Road bridge is now worse than before they resurfaced it! They
have used a lazer system to get the levels but it over corrected and left a corrogated surface. Even in the van you feel it!!!! Then there is the
a8000 carpark the worst road in Scotland by far! Nothing more to add there.

The last road they did near me (done last summer) was done quite well, but then it is a narrow lane and has practiacly no traffic on it.
The only down side is that road level is about 3-4 inches above the verges know. So when pull over to pass someone going the other way you have quite
drop down. Plus the wheels sink a couple of inches into the verge as well. To counter this they put lose soil either side of the road, so know the car
sinks 5 inches and gets covered with mud as well if your not carefull.
Road mantinance, will they ever get it right?

The road outside my house has been voted the worst in Doncaster, it is unadopted though, but trying to get the council to adopt and surface is proving
difficult. 6 inch deep potholes are the norm and there is one, almost clear, route to avoid the worst ones. Makes Locosting difficult!!
