car behavior
Hello there,
after some time of looking to various tv shows about ariel atom and so on. desided to think the possibility of building the car myself. And from first
stage researching i was intended to do smth mid-engined. But from start it seems to be complicated compared with my technical/theoretical knowlegde.
So i was starting to think about FR layout.
->And now comes the question, what is the weight distribution between axles? I intend to use nissan 200sx as a donor car, so it has 1.8 turbo
engine (weight with transmision is about 150kgs), shortened drive shaft, and rear axles with lsd differential. What do you think could come out of it?
Stock car weight distribution is about 51/49 %.
-> how those cars are behaving? understeering, oversteering?

Weight distribution is pretty much 50/50 with a front/rear layout in the Lotus Seven style.
Also the Nissan 200sx engine/drivetrain has been used before - someone in Australia has done it. Try a search on Google.
The understeer/oversteer condition is adjustable via the suspension settings. With a little bit of knowledge you can adjust to get whatever you
want.
ps some native English speakers are dreadful - don't worry about it

thanks a lot for your help.
actually it is just in very theoretical stage. at first i will purchase nissan in going condition and have fun with it some time... and only then i
will trash the chassis
edit: actually the idea of using nissan engine, came from a idea when i was looking for a car to buy. one of the best rwd cars are 200sx s13 and s14,
they have engines ca18det (1.8 16v dohc turbo ~170bhp - easy can hold 300bhp with different turbo, exaust, induction, injectors and chip, but needs
good maintainance, mostly oil changes) and sr20det (2.0 16v dohc turbo ~190bhp - quite easy till 280 - 300bhp but it is much more expensive), so the
outcome is quite natural for me
