King Kong.
Took the wife to see King Kong on Friday.
Over 3 hours long but not bad at all, mind you i am a big Peter Jackson fan, which is why i managed to spot a refference to a much earlier PJ film.
When you first see the ships hold there are loads of animal crates stacked up. On one of the crates in the background you will see written
"Sumatran Rat Monkey".
This ficticous creature was a nasty little buggar that appeared in PJ's 3rd movie called BRAIN DEAD, very gory and funny zombie film.
Just thought i'd share that with you guys.

PJ's first full length film that was, his budget was so small that all the characters were friends and family.
They used pigs guts from the local butcher for the special effects.
Damn funny film though. "the ba5tards have landed" Haven't seen it for ages.
He has come a hell of a long way.

"I'm a Derek, and Derek's don't run." Ah, Bad Taste is a cracking film. Haven't seen it for years though.
Agree, PJ is a really good director, criminally underrated before LoTR. I love The Frighteners, and Heavenly Creatures is very understated.
Did you spot PJ's cameo in Kong? I'm guessing he crops up as a tribesman at some point.
Have you done six impossible things before breakfast?

Didn't see him in this one, i'll have to watch it again and look out for him.
The ships cook that has a close encounter with a toothy worm thing is the guy that did all the motion work for Gollum.

He also did all the motion digitiser suit work for Kong's movement.

i need to watch this again, was so long ive forgot what happened in the first half!
thought the blurry effect on the tribesman bit was a bit dire but other than that was pretty damn good.
