Trackday - Mallory or Cadwell
I'm going to go on my first track day, or track half day to be precise. Here are my choices:
Thur 7th Sep, Cadwell park. 2:00 till 8:00. £99
Fri 8th Sep, Mallory park. 11:30 till 17:00. £69
Cadwell is further away, is later so it'll be going dark and is more expensive but seems to be a better circuit.
Mallory is nearer, cheaper and earlier. I also only need to book 1/2 day holiday but the circuit doesn't look as interesting for a seven.
Has anyone driven on either of these circuits and can recommend which one to go for? All opinions welcome.

I've ridden a bike at mallory. There are plenty of challenges for a 1st time out, especially the uphill hairpin. Not driven a car there in
anger, but I reckon you would have a good time.

No question....Cadwell
Mallory is OK, Gerrards can be a bit of an engine killer if not dry sumped and you're on sticky tyres!
Cadwell........fab! No time to get bored, attacking coppice into charlies flat for the first time is great once you get the confidence....The mountain
then Hall bends keep you honest.... 2nd best Circuit for a seven in the country after Oulton IMO!

I would not recommend Cadwell for your 1st track day, very challenging with unforgiving walls and barriers feet from the track side.

Hi for a first trackday mallory would be better imho as there is a lot of taechnical to get around cadwell and often makes some one new feel a bit on
edge with a lot of other cars driving much faster if you have to keep getting out of the way. Plus not to much run off area paticuly round the
mountain and hall bends area.
where as mallory is not hard to drive quickly for a newbie plus it is only up the road pacticuly if your driving there and not trailering.
once you have got your confidence on the track you have got to get to cadwell asap closley followed by oulton.
cheers matt

Ditto Jon, Procomps and Shorties advice.....
For a first trackday, Mallory is the business...... challenging enough for a 'first timer' and will leave you wanting more....
Cadwell can be a tad unforgiving especially around the 'Mountain'..........

Cadwell is superb even for a first timer. Just remember it's a trackday and not a race and you'll be absolutely fine and have great fun.
It is difficult watching other cars passing you though (so I've heard)

a lad died at cadwell last week, it is a wonderful circuit but very unforgiving in places.
My first trackday was at elvington, its utter shite compared to the better ones but there is nothing at all to aside from other cars!

You would get a good mid week price at Donnington if you book with them direct, tight on noise though. I really wouldn't recommend Cadwell too
anyone without a bit of experience on tracks under there belt, it can bite back hard, I too have witnessed two deaths at Cadwell, both on the same
day, both in open top cars.

Mallory it is then. It's £30 cheaper to get in and I'll save £25 in petrol getting there - and 5 hours off the return trip.
I measured my car at 100.9 dB a few weeks ago. Easily within the 105 allowed by Mallory but way too much for Donnington with their 98 dB limit.

yes they do an F1 experience there as well as three sisters track at wigan. IMHO three sisters is too small a track for an F1 as it it usually used
for Karting and sprints

Mmmmm I'm sure the B.I.Law did a F1 type thing at mallory???
A red letter day type outing it was. He ended up in the wall in a replica Cobra
I should add he was not the driver.
