What is Elvington like? - fantastic
What's Elvington like as a track day venue? Whan kind of circuits to trackday companies run? Looking at an aerial photo of it, it is just two
straights with a corner at each end.

From what I've seen of the place, it gets laid out with cones.
I've been there a few times to watch some sprint racing.
I suppose the biggest benefit is that if you spin off, there's nothing to hit apart from some cones and the odd mole hill.

i like Elvington. Javelin track days do most of the track days events there and they are well priced and i think give good value for money.
the circuit is laid out with cones and they vary the circuit quite regularly. the last one i went to was a great layout with plenty of variety of
corners. and also has plenty of run off when you spin
can be hard on tyres as previously stated but it depends on how hard you drive

Had an excelent time at Elvington today. MASSES of run off lots of slow medium and fast corners, only one where I felt genuine fear. My top speed of
the day was 110 but only did it by outbreaking myself into a chicane and I knocked the front left indicator off with a big cone.
3 of my tyres were worn down from 5mm to 2.5mm on the outside 1/3 of the wheel. The rear left tyre, strangly, didn't. I've been wanting
to put some good tyres on it for ages but the old ones were virtually new.
A great first track day, especially for someone like me with deathophobia - there really is nothing to crash into. I had a nice spin and a few
controlled *ahem* slides without any brown trousers. Fun fun fun. just don't ask about 2nd gear
