Driving holidays - Probably Scottish road trip
Has anyone got a good suggestion of somewhere this side of europe, or even within the UK to go on a driving holiday with a Locost of course... I.e. a
nice route there and back, camping along the way?
Or indeed a nice place to end the journey, preferably nice and quiet, warm and dry in august!

Gotta be the NURBURGRING!!!
went last year on bike - it was an awesome trip
didn't take many pics at the ring what with being on bikes, but here are a few:

Don't know yet, still trying to work out a date, don't worry will be open invite offered to anyone who want's to tag along,can be in
any car/bike.
will post dates as and when they are sorted.

When I used to own an Elise there was always a yearly migration to the Stelvio pass for a meal (where the Elise brakes were tested). The 1 to 2 weeks
of driving before hand across several countries was also rather nice. Usually around that time of year.

The Nurburgring is a possibility, not sure whether I would want to take my car around there hearing some of the stories though to be honest. Maybe
another year...
South of france sounds like a nice idea though!

We did the french alps last year, stunning roads all the way to the med, head for Grenoble then follow the "route napoleon" through gap
and grasse right down to cannes (brilliant roads all the way), then have cruise along the sea front

 Have to have something at least roughly planned for my holiday between uni and starting work. Might as well make the most of it, unlikely to ever
get chance to have 2-3 months off to do what I like once I start work!
Last time I went to skeg I saw about 150 donor cars wrecked.

I can second (or third) the South Of France. Did it in 2005 in the Locost, although we cheated and got down there in a day on the autoroute, stayed in
a big caravan and drove round on day trips to Monte, Cannes (good boat show BTW), Nice, St Tropez, Antibes etc. The coast road from Cannes to Frejus
is AWESOME.

Thinking of staying in this country the first time. Probably a route around scotland in early september (see map below). Would love to meet up with a
few people on the way around. We (me and the girlfriend) are planning on camping in a few places on the way around, and taking between a week or 2 to
get all the way around.
Assuming my car is finished and I am happy with the reliability of it, then its going ahead...
If people want to tag along it would be great to have the company  Even if you are in a tintop, though the route would be much better in a seven.

PS the route comes up the A9 via pitlochary, so if i do decide to come up, we can pick people up on the way up

You can't go all the way up the west coast and not visit Applecross a cracking wee pub and campsite await after a stunning climb over the
mountains (and i may be wrong but I think it is the highest mountain pass in the UK) that you can't miss, and the road round the coast to get
back the main road is gonna be fun in a 7

Very true, and applecross is on the list of detours. Thats just the main route really - any sight seeing bits will happen as and when on the route
depending on weather and other factors . Been up there several times in a tintop and its absolutely stunning to say the least!

Can i also suggest (on a roll now! ) that you visit the Cruachan dam if you get a chance and take a trip under the mountain
And if you take the Mallaig road out of Fort William you pass the Glenfinnan visitor centre and viaduct behind it (means trip to sky unless you really
like the road or turn back after Glenfinnan!), also worth a look
And if you need any campsite info just ask, as I spent many years touring the west coast on bikes
