Constable incompetent
Driving back through the wonderful S Oxon countryside I was pulled by plod early this afternoon. The converstaion with plod went along the lines
below...........
'What happened to the windscreen?'
'I'm sorry what do you mean?'
'Why is there no windscreen on this vehicle?'
'Because it was made that way with an aeroscreen officer'
'This can't be roadworthy or legal for that matter'
'Well it passed SVA 2 years ago like this and it passed an MOT 6 weeks ago'
'You're also not displaying a valid tax disc'
'Yes I am officer it's here on the aeroscreen upright'
'It's supposed to be displayed in the n/s corner of your windscreen Sir'
'But I don't have a windscreen officer'
'Exactly, which is why I'm issuing you with a produce notice blah blah blah.....................
There seemed little point in arguing with Constable incompetent, in the end I just shut up and let him impart his superior knowledge on me.
What a complete waste of his and my time, he must have been 20-25 years old and clearly had never seen a 7 in his life before. He should be out on
the Wantage Road on a sunny weekend there's flippin millions of them

As you say up to a point no point in arguing.
Did you just get a producer or one of those slips you take to MOT place? maybe a polite letter to his superior may be in order worded in such a way
that wont cause offence and make you a future target (if such a thing would happen).
Sounds like a complete waste of time to me. Difficult to know how to argue with such incompetence sometimes.

Its only a producer. Much less hassle just to take it and mark it down as a tosser policeman jobsworth.

Just a producer.
He wasn't a traffic plod, just a neighbourhood watch busybody beat bloke out in the sun in his Astra jam sandwich.
His name and warrant card number are on the producer, kept a note of them just in case as that road is a particular favourite hoon route.
I produced 30 minutes ago at our local nick, the rubber desk johnny thought it was funny and agreed officer dibble shouldn't have been quite so
hasty.

What a nonce! A little letter to his boss would seem appropriate....
Then again, its always the same with the plod, if you wee them off they'll just go out of their way to nick you for something.....

i'd send them an invoice for my time, i charge my customers £100 per hour and thats what i would of charged the plod for wasting my time.
