You ALWAYS need another 50 bhp, whatever you've already got

Turbo or NOS might be the answer.

it just seems a shame to ditch the standard injection & ecu.

But i guess a megasquirt setup on throttle bodies would get me maybe 20-30hp more!!!

You should have fitted a standard turbo motor to start with (VW, Nissan, Opel or Volvo T4)

Then another 30% or more is just a short Dyno session and maybe a new set of injectors away.

And it will be much more driveable (and economical on fuel when cruising) than a n/a motor with rumpety rumpety cams etc that anyway puts out less power than the standard turbo motor did.

Not from someone who only registered a week and a half ago.

Plus, plenty of cheaper ways of getting 170bhp.

overweight's a rumour hey???
there is only one reason why people build lightweight cars!!! You notice I went as far as cutting even the last couple of threads off all my suspension bolts, to make it as lightweight as possible!! So Yes, I am whats more commonly known in my family as a FB, or after a large meal a BFB, or when someone is annoyed at me a BUFB!!!

If the truth be known , far too many of the BEC fraternity are relying on a trade off of Lbs against HP.
I need to lose 3 stone I reckon that would be equal to a 40hp upgrade

We're not all fat! I'm just tall and weigh 14 st 6 lb. I could lose weight, but I'd look stupidly skinny. And I couldn't eat any pies.

you wouldn't be as tall Si if you took those stupid high-heels off!!!

I'm not tall and still weigh around 15 and a half stone so I can't comment, but ReMan, you are virtually spot on, losing three stone (yourself or from the car!) would be equivallant to roughly a 40ho increase!!!

Bloody hell! If I got down to a normal-ish weight I could forget about the turbo!

100bhp or pies .... hmmm that's a tough one

So Steve does that mean you cutting the threads off your bolts mean, i dont need to diet as your half a stone heavier than me, great. That means i can have a megga mixed grill instead of a mixed grill on Sunday day.

Thank's, Joe

Why not use thinner bolts

Chapman raced his cars in the '50s with 1/4" bolts
