Glad I had my helmet on!
Lately I've been driving round without my helmet, 'cos of the nice weather. This morning I decided that a helmet would be a good idea.
Very glad that I did, after being hit full-face by some BIG insect, which made me jump when it impacted. I suspect that it was a hornet, when I
examined the remains later. It had spread out over a square inch or two. Without a helmet, it would have got me square on the nose at 70mph!

Lucky escape!
Can't imagine what would happen if it got you in the eye or, even worse, it was a stone being thrown up by a car - not worth thinking about!

Without a windscreen you definately need to wear a crash helmet (or at the very least some shatterproof protective goggles). I've had a number
of windscreen (on the tintop) shattered by road debris, apples falling off trees etc....

(I normally wear a fairly stout pair of prescription sunglasses, so it wouldn't have got my eyes - but it was bang in line with me hooter!)
