I'm smilling
Had first track day at Killarney in Cape Town in hired CAV GT40 Five more days to go.
It's clear that I will take a few days to get used to the sheer speed this car carries into the corners. One thing for sure it doesn't like
sudden changes of direction or throttle lifting.
Otherwise has huge grip if you are smooth on steering and throttle and the sound of the V8 is way It was almost as much fun to
stand at the pit wall and just listen to the other GT40's going past. (there where 4 others including CAV's race car.
Managed to fit in about 20 laps.
Only dislike was the gear change which is notchy and slow so no snap changes possible. But I suppose to reliably handle the type of power and torgue
availlable thats inevitable.
Must say I have a new respect for drivers of these cars who spent hours in the cocpit in sunny climes during endurance races - I doubt if I could
survive 15 laps as it must have been well above 40C in the cockpit. It was 32C outside
