is it me???

is it me or is the enjoyment of driving being lost? when i was younger i'd go for a 200 mile drive just for the pleasure of driving, petrol prices have put a stop to that, down in this part of the world there is nowhere , and i mean nowhere, to go and play powerslides etc the places where everyone used to go are now watched by cameras or patrolled by do gooding nimbys and within 5 mins a policeman will be asking for details and lecturing about how anti social you are. the roads are chock full of slow traffic caused by roadworks and when you get to that good bit with the twisty bends you're behind a caravan!......perhaps i'm just getting old and grumpy but a person could get depressed if you thought about it alot....anyway enough of the rant, think i'll go for a drive

Yeah I agree - when we were 17 we used to go from Peterborough to Hunstanton...

One day we borred my mates Dads (borrowed = TWOK) brand spanking new Vauxhaul Cavalier (MK2/3 - the last but shape, 14 years ago, not the commander one)

Ragged it down to Sunny Hunny, got some chips, practiced reverse 180's in the carpark and burnouts and then managed to throw a ROD

Ooooooooooooooooooooooops

We then had to endure an awkward ride home with his Dad in his Mums car, whilst the AA collected the vehicle with just over 600 miles on the clock - luckily he got it repaired on warranty

But yeah - the do-gooders and PARANOIA have disabled ALL elements of 'fun' nowadays, people just can't be people - we certainly have fallen foul of George Orwells prediction

5 minutes!!!

You'll be lucky, more likely they'll turn up to the address in about a week or so......mind you car related 'anti social' behaviour probably rates as a higher priority than burgalry, assult etc so you might be unfortunate and have them turn up earlier.

Strange, and slightly ironic, but if the chavs turn up in the car park at the end of our back garden to rag their 1.0 Corsas I really don't like it! Perhaps I'm just getting old (or perhaps I'd be more understanding if they had proper cars!)

My house is just off the main town area. The Chavs use the big carparks at the top for their fun. The car park next to mine is dark and secluded so they just sit listening to music or shagging - dont really cause any offence at all. Sometimes a bit of rubbish about - luckily no needles or owt like that ever found (i always check when i take dog out in case the kids ever go round there playing).
