Pick one small task, and do that, perhaps only 15 mins - it may spur you on or at least you will have done something

Blag a passenger ride in a finished car! Quick!

Whenever I got bored, confused or thoroughly wee'd off I'd get my mate Carl to take me out for a spin in his 200 bhp Caterham!

Best thing to do in those situations is to grab a beer and leave it till another night. You never do a job as well as you could if you dont have the motivation. We all have those days / weeks / maybe months.

then all of a sudden, in a few weeks (maybe days, or months) you'll spend a whle day out there, then the next day, then the next

I had that the other day, popped down the local steel stockist thought i'd make some brackets for the engine cradle, stuck in traffic on the way there and stuck in traffic on the way back a 1 hour journey became 3 hours! needless to say i wasn't in the mood for making the brackets

I'm the same. There are so many little time consuming jobs in the build that make no visual impact that you begin to loose the will to live. It becomes a chore rather than a pleasure.
Go and spend time with your Mrs and enjoy the quiet pregnant time, soon you will have none!

happens all the time to me, rent a movie and "chillax" for the evening - building a car ain't a race.

I do recommend the old pretend driving though

Iv been like this for months. Partly becase i cant see my car in the garage for crap andf partly cos i cant be arsed. I keep seeing the bloke down the road with a nice robin hood which he has been using all winter when it was dry. Its giving me inspiration but i stil cant be arsed.

Sure. It should be good to go by then.
I am getting bored of pushing it back along the drive only to drive it 30 foot. (As fast as i can)

I've been like that 3 or 4 times over the build DON'T GIVE UP you will get there in the end.

Lol! When I picked up the kit I had never seen one in the flesh before nevermind been in one. MK took me out in the slowest BEC they had (so they said) and it was mental.
I'm used to driving 4x4 for the last couple of years so even normal cars are fast for me.

Do it myself all the time, sunny weather seems to spur me on. Only do it when you want too, after all it is supposed to fun and not a chore.

Close the garage door, forget the car. One night soon you will wake up in the middle of the night thinking about what you want to do next
I certainly did. My car was allegedly almost complete when I bought it and it still took two and a half years and two SVA test before I could drive it.
But the first time a Porch Carrera tries and fails to out run you, you will not believe how wide you can smile.
I laughed for the next 5 miles

Agree 100%.

Get out there and just make a list of tasks broken down into 5 to 15 minute jobs...probably be a long list doing it that way, then pick a couple and do them..if there is something you can't do write on that list what's stopping you...(like waiting for parts etc)...then do stuff you can do right now....

Sometimes I'll just go out and take a dozen photos then look them over at my desk while making my lists...

Trust me it helps a lot...the list goes down and you re-establish some momentum....

Don't panic, i reckon the weather is to blame
car building is perverse sh#t in the UK.
Far more fun in summer, but thats when you really want to be out driving ?????
