Easy Jet Rant

My missus booked 2 flights on easy jet last night. We've decided now we don't want to go - cancelled the flights within 12 hours and lost £117!!!!

I know its our fault, but I don't think these charges are fair, and are only mentioned in one tiny bit on seprate pages of the terms and conditions.

Just a warning to you all about "budget" airlines.

Im afraid thats how the budget airlines get some of their revenue - ie out of cancellations and changes.

I have to say i have nothing but good experiences using easy jet for normal flights with no changes.

Mrs Mooky booked a weekend trip to see family in Belfast last year. The outgoing flight was cancelled due to bad weather - they wouldn't give us any refund for the return flight even though she couldn't get on it because they had failed to get her there in the first place

Never used them since.

"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

Mark - Did you have travel insurance? If you did that should have covered the return flight...

I thought that but CAB informed me that some things are exempt. One of which is travel booked on a certain time.

easy jet and ryan air both operate to very similar business models, if you want cheap flights with no frills then you pick them.

I guess it's just a case of being quite clear that being treated like cattle, and not being able to cancel flights are two examples of the NO FRILLS approch.

personally I don't mind it, as I can get where I want, when I want for not alot of cash at all.

Pays ya money......

For Chr**t sake what do you expect, pay peanuts, and get peanut facilities.
If you want enough legroom for a 6' 6"person, money back if you cancell 24 hours before you fly, etc., etc use BA or some similar cr*p airline but pay ten times as much.
The alternative is go by coach, suffer 10 hours cramped in a small seat, and it will probably cost just as much as risking a cheap airline
