Front mudguard stays

I’ve got a slight problem.

One of my front mudguard stays has broken were the flat bar that runs under the mudguard and the tube from the hub joins. Getting it welded up for now, but considering replacements
I have Cortina hubs. Who’s the best person to go to get something that isn’t going to break?

I made mine from scratch using the originals as a template. I used a SINGLE PIECE of 3mm x 10mm steel for each arm so that I didn't have any welds as they just fatigue over time. I was having to repair them after every race!

TMC motorsport do some good ones (google them) and there's a guy on eBay too. Or borrow a welder and make your own.

Hi,

Got mine off ebay from Casarva_Limited and there is a set on now for £29.50. They are very strong and of good quality.

I had the same problem - rewelding, etc. didn;t last long so I eventually made up my own like 82Locost. My flat bar was a bit bigger - something like 35mmx6mm which was a bugger to bend, but they are dead solid and so far have not broken again!

here is the thread with what I did and some pics

Cheers

Simon

Do away with them all together, they can't break then, can they

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
