fuel consumption
Only been driving out book chassis locost with 2 litre Pinto engine, 5 speed box and 1.3 read escort axle and book fuel tank for 90 miles since
Wednesday and already cannot believe how much fuel we are going through. How many miles should I expect from a tank with mostly sensuble driving on a
twin choke.
How many times can i expect to stop for fuel ( if I an find any ) to kings lynn ( 120 miles )

I never got better than 25mpg on Webers no matter how economically I drove it. Whenever I had a look at the airbox there was always fuel in there. I
actually think Webers waste a lot of fuel but they do give you the performance which for most of us is what we are looking for not 50mpg.

Standard 2ltr Pinto I've averaged 26mpg. On a sensible run I get 30 mpg.

Webers sound great but they suck for mpg (or at least that's their reputation- looks like it's true!!!)....

yea it is standard book dimensions ?, i though this worked out to about 40 litres, but it was about 3 yeras ago that I measured it by seeing how many
20litres drums of water i could get in it.seems about 40 miles driving uses 1/2 a tank.
I have noticed these fuel saver things fitted on some cars, are they any good, how do they work.

Ouch.. out of our standard MK plastic tank (20L?)we could get about 150 miles out of pretty even miles with a 2L Pinto, FR32 cam and the standard
32/36DGAS? (the 1 with the electric choke and stepper motor) but we were running a well setup Megajolt.
Olthough 1 day trying my best to follow a well sorted Lancia Delta Intergrale EVO2 round the Scottish Highlands it only managed about 80 miles before
I had to fill it up M.P.G was poor but S.P.G (Smiles Per Gallon) were unreal I will remember that Forever!
At the moment with R1 Throttle Bodies. Megasquirt and a FR34 Cam were getting about 20mpg but were hopeing to improve that with some secondary
butterflies or some inlet restriction at low rev's, ot used to do many more MPG with ther standard carb on.
